Tidying Up with Marie Kondo: Rogal Dorn Edition

Title: Tidying Up with Marie Kondo: Rogal Dorn Edition

EXT. ROGAL DORN'S FORTRESS MONASTERY - DAY

The episode opens with a sweeping shot of The Phalanx, Rogal Dorn's massive, fortress-like battle station, floating in orbit. Gleaming in the darkness of space, it is an imposing structure of precision and discipline, designed to withstand any assault.

The camera zooms into the interior of Dorn’s personal quarters—military, sparse, and impeccably organized. But as the camera pans around, we notice a different kind of clutter—piles of half-built fortifications, blueprints for future construction projects, and numerous relics of his relentless planning. Everything is meticulously arranged, yet it’s clear that Dorn is burdened by an overwhelming need for perfection.

MARIE KONDO floats through the air in a pod, landing gracefully at the entrance. She steps into the pristine interior, perfectly composed as always, her gentle demeanor clashing with the cold, imposing surroundings.

MARIE KONDO
(voiceover, smiling)
Today, we are visiting Rogal Dorn, the Primarch of the Imperial Fists. His fortress reflects his precision, but even the most disciplined minds need to declutter.

INT. THE PHALANX - COMMAND ROOM

Rogal Dorn stands at the head of the Command Room, which overlooks the battle station’s core. His bright yellow armor is perfectly polished, his expression stern and unreadable. In front of him is a tactical display filled with ongoing construction projects and diagrams of defenses.

Marie approaches with her characteristic calmness, bowing slightly as she greets him.

MARIE KONDO
(smiling warmly)
Dorn-san, thank you for allowing me to visit your home.

ROGAL DORN
(flatly)
My home is my fortress. It is already in perfect order.

MARIE KONDO
(nods serenely)
Even a perfect fortress can benefit from letting go of things that do not spark joy.

Dorn raises an eyebrow, clearly skeptical, but remains silent.

INT. DORN’S PERSONAL QUARTERS - DAY

Marie and Dorn walk through Dorn’s personal quarters. Every tool, weapon, and document is organized to military precision. However, the room is dominated by stacks of blueprints, sketches of fortress designs, and prototypes of defenses. Even his sleep pod is flanked by construction plans for new ramparts.

Marie inspects one of the blueprints, her expression thoughtful.

MARIE KONDO
(smiling)
You have many plans for future defenses. These are important, but let’s look at whether some of these projects still bring you joy.

Dorn frowns.

ROGAL DORN
(gruffly)
Every plan has a purpose. Every structure, a reason. I do not waste time on frivolities.

Marie gestures to one of the more obscure piles—a stack of half-finished wall designs and diagrams for battlements that haven’t seen use in centuries.

MARIE KONDO
(gently)
Perhaps these designs served their purpose once, but now they may be taking up space that could be used for something else.

Dorn considers her words, his brow furrowing. He slowly picks up a particularly old diagram of a watchtower, staring at it.

ROGAL DORN
(grumbling)
This design was outdated long ago. It was... flawed.

Marie steps beside him, smiling softly.

MARIE KONDO
Then we thank it for its service and let it go.

For a moment, Dorn hesitates. Then, with surprising care, he folds the blueprint and places it in the "discard" pile. His movement is almost reverent.

ROGAL DORN
(low)
Thank you.

INT. DORN’S ARMORY - LATER

They move on to Dorn’s armory, where every weapon and tool is displayed with immaculate precision. However, there is an overwhelming number of identical boltguns, chainswords, and turrets. Marie glances at the sheer repetition, understanding Dorn’s need for redundancy but sensing there’s more to it.

MARIE KONDO
You have many tools to defend your home. But are they all necessary? Perhaps you could keep only the ones that bring you the most confidence in battle.

Dorn eyes her carefully.

ROGAL DORN
I do not know what you mean by joy, but... security, yes. These tools provide that.

Marie walks over to a well-worn bolter, holding it up for Dorn to inspect.

MARIE KONDO
Does this bring you confidence?

Dorn nods.

ROGAL DORN
This weapon has served me well. It stays.

Marie then picks up an older turret design, one clearly unused and outdated.

MARIE KONDO
And this?

Dorn’s expression darkens slightly.

ROGAL DORN
It was replaced. It no longer serves a purpose.

Marie gives him a small, approving nod.

MARIE KONDO
Then we thank it.

Dorn hesitates for a second, then looks at the turret with a grudging respect before placing it in the discard pile.

ROGAL DORN
(lowly)
Thank you.

INT. DORN’S MEDITATION ROOM - NIGHT

Marie and Dorn enter a sparse, dimly lit meditation room. The space is cold and barren, with only a simple chair and a few scattered relics of past battles. Dorn stands, arms crossed, watching as Marie takes in the emptiness of the room.

MARIE KONDO
(smiling softly)
Your space is orderly, but it does not reflect the heart of a home. What is it that truly brings you peace, Dorn-san?

Dorn is silent for a long moment, his eyes fixed on the single item in the room that seems out of place—a small, well-worn book sitting on the table, surrounded by fortress schematics. Marie steps toward it, gently picking it up.

MARIE KONDO
(softly)
Does this bring you joy?

Dorn glances at the book, his expression softening for just a second.

ROGAL DORN
(lowly)
It was a gift. From my brother, Rogal Alpharius, before... the betrayal.

Marie sets the book down with care, smiling up at him.

MARIE KONDO
Then it stays.

INT. THE PHALANX - FINAL REVEAL

The final reveal shows Dorn’s quarters, armory, and meditation room transformed. Though still austere, there is a newfound sense of calm and purpose. The clutter of unused plans and outdated weapons is gone, replaced with only the most meaningful tools of his defense.

Marie steps back as Dorn surveys his newly tidied fortress. His gaze sweeps across the room, taking in the quiet precision, the clarity in his space.

MARIE KONDO
(smiling)
How do you feel, Dorn-san?

Dorn is silent for a moment, then nods slowly.

ROGAL DORN
(gruffly)
It is... more efficient. There is less distraction.

Marie beams at him.

MARIE KONDO
I’m glad you’ve found clarity in your space. Even the strongest fortresses can benefit from order and simplicity.

Dorn looks at her, his usual stoic expression softening just a bit.

ROGAL DORN
Thank you.

EXT. THE PHALANX - NIGHT

Marie leaves The Phalanx in her pod, the camera following her through space as she floats serenely away from Dorn’s massive battle station. Inside, Dorn watches her depart, his fortress as silent and unyielding as ever, but with a new sense of calm.

MARIE KONDO
(voiceover, smiling)
Even the most disciplined defenders can find joy in tidying. Rogal Dorn’s home now reflects his strength and his heart’s true purpose.

END.
