Rogal Dorn strides in once again, his golden armor gleaming under the lights. He takes his seat, a slight, determined frown on his face. The crowd claps, cheering for him like he’s an underdog returning for redemption.

Oh, this is interesting. You’ve got a lot of notes on structural weaknesses, huh? Like, fortifications and defense models. I actually do a lot of work with reinforced structures myself. You could teach my whole team a thing or two.
ROGAL DORN

Definitely! My whole job is about making sure buildings don’t fall down. Though, I admit, I’ve never had to think about defense against orbital bombardments.

Rogal begins scrolling through Sarah’s phone, his face typically unreadable. He finds photos of her on hiking trips, some pictures of her recent structural projects, and even a few images of her at comic conventions in costume. He pauses at a few group texts filled with casual jokes.
ROGAL DORN

You appear to balance your professional duties with… leisurely pursuits. Hiking… outdoor adventures?
SARAH
laughing
Yeah, I love being outdoors. It’s a great way to clear my head after a long day of work. Keeps me grounded, you know? And yeah, I’m a bit of a nerd too—been known to binge-watch sci-fi shows on the weekends.
